Paper Mulberry On of the most widely adapted species in the world, this pretty tree ha s been used in Polynesia to make tapa cloth and paper and as an astringent. The fruit is edible, though not especially large. The tree has a rounded growth habit and, like its relative the mulberry, produces leaves of widley varying shapes on a single tree. The male trees produce long flower clusters in the spring, while the females produce small round purple balls, followed by purple fruits.
